Top 10 Vegas Casinos

For people who enjoy trying their luck at gambling, there is really no destination in the world better than Las Vegas. Betting enthusiasts flock here from all over the world, with the city being the gambler’s Mecca it is. But the sprawling casino metropolis may be overwhelming for some, which is why knowing which of the Las Vegas casinos to visit is useful. With that in mind, we’ve prepared a list of the top 10 Vegas casinos:

The Stratosphere

The Las Vegas Stratosphere is undoubtedly one of the most visually striking hotels in Las Vegas. It’s both a hotel and a casino, as well as a tower; situated in a couple of buildings that add quite a lot to the Las Vegas skyline. The tower is an impressive 350-meters tall, being one of the tallest on the entire continent.

On the other hand, the hotel-casino complex is in a structure on the Las Vegas Boulevard. The casino floor itself is quite sprawling, with around 50 table games, more than 1,500 slot machines, a poker room, and a room for sports betting. And all of this is located on a space of over 7,400 square meters.

If you’re not just visiting the casino offerings of Las Vegas for the thrill of gambling but also to get a feel for the local history and aesthetics — Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel is a great choice! Found on the Freemont Street Experience, it’s definitely not a classical Strip establishment; but it’s dripping with the classic 20th century Las Vegas feel.

The place bears the name of its old owner, Benny Binion. His family opened the doors of this casino all the way back in 1951. For fans of gambling history, there’s another reason why this place belongs on any must-visit list: it’s the casino where the World Series of Poker came to be.

Mandalay Bay

If we’re talking about the jewels of the Las Vegas strip, we’d be remiss not to mention the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. With the mind-boggling gaming space of 135,000 square feet, this is definitely one of the most epic casinos in Sin City. The building’s pool area is actually known as ‘the beach,’ for a good reason; it’s been built with 2700 tons of actual sand and 1.5 million gallons of water. The resort also contains a spacious shopping mall, as well as more than 20 bars and some of the finest restaurants in Las Vegas.

MGM Grand

The MGM Grand is one of the most luxurious casinos found on the Las Vegas Strip. The illustrious MGM offers its visitors one of the biggest casino floors in town, with over 170,000 square feet of casino space. This area contains over 2,500 machines, and around 140 table and poker games. MGM’s guests can also try their luck at a wide range of slot machines, such as progressive slots, video poker, and even machines with multiple games.

Best of all, the floor features a High-Limit area with slots, with far more rewarding payouts of up to half a million dollars. Besides all this, this casino also has a premium-quality sportsbook area. Inside, you can find astounding 60-inch plasma screens, where you can bet on and follow a wide variety of sports events.

Caesar’s Palace

The renowned Caesar’s Palace also has a spot on any list of prestigious Las Vegas casinos. It is positioned on the western part of the Strip, with a casino floor of over 160,000 square feet. This large area houses plenty of gaming facilities and offers a plethora of entertainment options. The history of this casino-hotel dates back to 1962 when Jay Sarno had the idea of building a Roman-style resort in Nevada.

The theme of old Rome was a specific choice because it invoked a sense of grandeur and luxury. Interestingly enough, this antique Roman aesthetic rounds out with a huge replica of the ancient Colosseum. These days, this area is used for entertainment events, with the likes of Elton John and Celine Dion already having performed there.

The Venetian and the Palazzo

Obviously, this spot on our list is somewhat different than others; by virtue of the fact that it contains two casinos. In reality, though, the Venetian and the Palazzo are technically one entity; seeing as they operate under a single gaming license. Also, they’re connected by the Canyon Reach SpaClub. Truly, this establishment is a story in and of itself, with almost 135,000 square feet of space.

And all of this space is does not go to waste; with Canyon Reach offering one of the most diverse spa services in Las Vegas. For any sort of massage or scrub, these two casinos definitely offer the most professional and expert services in town. And to top all of this off, this casino complex also offers two excellent gourmet restaurants to its visitors.

The Mirage

The Mirage is undeniably one of the most reputable institutions on the Las Vegas Strip. Much like the Venetian and the Palazzo, the Mirage is also connected to another casino. In this case, it’s the Treasure Island casino, to which we’ll get to in a moment. But as for the Mirage — this prestigious building opened its doors in 1989.

It has a signature golden color on its exterior, the result of a complicated tinting process that used actual gold dust. In many ways, the concept of the Mirage represents everything that modern Las Vegas is. With a wide variety of gaming options and non-gambling amenities, it has become a brand almost eponymous with Vegas.

Treasure Island

The Treasure Island Hotel & Casino is another Strip establishment, connected to the aforementioned Mirage. The hotel is decidedly one of the finest in all of Vegas, with a Four Diamond rating that it has held since 1999. Interestingly enough, this casino was initially going to be just another tower of the Mirage. However, over time the plans evolved into the design of an entirely different casino resort. Today, the ‘Mystere’ show of the Cirque du Soleil is the casino’s main attraction; widely regarded as the finest show in Vegas.

New York-New York

Although Las Vegas offers many casino hotels with a particular theme, not all of them are fantastical or ancient-looking like Caesar’s Palace. As for gambling fans who are up for a more contemporary theme, there is always the New York-New York Hotel and Casino.

With a heavy influence of the 20th century New York City skyline, this casino’s architecture evokes a classic 1940s feeling. In fact, each of the towers represents a replica of a particular New York landmark, such as the Chrysler Building or the Empire State Building.

The Bellagio

While the Bellagio is our last choice on this list, it is definitely not the least. One of the most luxurious institutions on the Strip, its renown stems from its elegant style. A small Italian village served as a model for the general architecture of this complex, whose name it also bears.

The Bellagio is home to many exquisite gaming facilities, but its professional poker room is the one that brings this casino world renown. In fact, many of the leading poker players frequent the tables here — going so far as to call the Bellagio ‘The Office.’ Apart from the poker tables, this casino offers a sportsbook and a racebook too, as well as a wide variety of slots.
